We must remember the principle outlined by the apostles; Honour the king (sovereign power that rules over you). It does NOT say, honour the good king, or the pleasant king. It does NOT say, honour only those who honours you back.
And yet, it is saddening to see the fury that is lashed against the government and for all that, there are no prayers offered up to our very government which God wants us to honour. God established all these powers; the good, the bad and the ugly. It is His world.
Let’s not get too carried away with our disappointments and disatisfactions, until we forget ourselves (for those who are called out of this world), and think that our actions are approved by God.
Honour the king (1 Peter 2:17).
