First post for the year.
A few things that just seemed wrong at the start of the year and day:
Kuala Terengganu is a city? via http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/1/1/nation/19893663&sec=nation. I mean, come on! Kuantan is not even a city yet (yes, I’m passionate about my hometown, but…) and the fact is that KT people often come in the throngs every weekend to (no surprise here) Kuantan! Which place is more developed? Sigh!!!!
Billions of ringgit on the Iskandar Development Region? via http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/1/1/nation/19892004&sec=nation. Artificial economic boost smack in the face! John Maynard Keynes economic theory of government intervention is really good concept to grasp when tying things up to the political scene.
Sex Scandal in Malaysia (Johor specifically). Another one comes to the surface via http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/1/1/nation/19890462&sec=nation. Elections are really drawing closer when things like this comes up more frequently.
One year ago, I spent the eve just thinking back on the last year (2006) in a room above a house. 2007 has been a blessing for most part of it, and a challenge for the rest. 2008 will see more interesting things.
By the way, NUMB3RS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numb3rs) is really the best geeky crime investigation show out there! I have half a mind to check out ALL the mathematical concepts mentioned in the show. Hahaha. Geeky professor is my age by the way, and is a professor in Maths and a top consultant for the FBI (is that possible, for ALL the episodes? :P).
In the midst of season 2.
