This was essentially an introductory to the Bible Message which is also the Gospel message. The unity of the bible should never be discounted. You should never think that one part of the bible is only applicable to one group of people, and that the other part of the bible is only applicable to another group of people. Making that assumption is griveous to the fundamental faith of a Christian; salvation is entirely by God’s Grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone. 

Hebrews 11 outlines the red thread that flows from Genesis 3:15 until the culmination of God’s Will in the pages of Revelations 21. 

Sometimes I wonder why some are apprehensive with the concept of a single salvation plan (object of faith) for both Jews and Gentiles? Do they not see that Jesus saves even in the Old Testament? Paul earnestly tells Timothy that their Scripture (OT) is more than able to bring one to real salvation in Christ. 

See: (2 Timothy 3:14-15)  But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it  (15)  and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

I think the apprehension comes from the demands of true saving Grace on professing believers; it means that they cannot just simply ‘think’ they can choose to be a Christian without a real spiritual & supernatural working in their lives. There is no such thing as a carnal Christian. But many want to have that ‘freedom’ of keeping their pet sins and yet call themselves Christian based on their own ‘choice’. 

In this, I believe Paul Washer’s messages condemning the Christian Evangelism in America is timely, for many Malaysian church-goers are influenced by the Arminian/decisionalism approach that believes that conversion begins with a ‘decision’.
